Tennessee, Kentucky among 33 states affected in Edamame recall due to Listeria concerns
NASHVILLE, Tenn.--Eight ounce packages of Advanced Fresh Concepts "Edamame-Soybeans in Pods" sold in grocery stores, cafeterias, and corporate dining centers in Tennessee, Kentucky, and 31 other states have been recalled due to Listeria contamination concerns.
The recall was announced by the Food and Drug Administration on Thursday. The affected products have a UPC code of 0-23012-00261-9 and are dated between 01/03/2017 and 03/17/2017.
Listeria monocytogenes contamination was discovered during the company's quality assurance program. Anyone with the product in their home should return it to where it was purchased or discard the product.
The affected states are AL, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, ME, MI, MN, MS, NC, NH, NM, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WA, and WY.
