Art Beat attracts another huge crowd to downtown South Bend
Art and music flooded downtown South Bend with the return of Art Beat this weekend.
It's a day-long showcase of the work of hundreds of artists from the Michiana area.
It started back in 2003 and has now grown to become an event that attracts more than 10,000 visitors.
"It's something that brings the community together," says art vendor Birgit Biehl. "It lets people know we're here. The small businesses are here. You can find us, if we don't have these events, you can sample all the things that this area has to offer."
A whole slew of vendors from the visual arts, dance, theatre, music , restaurants and non-profit organizations were represented Saturday.
