Budget cuts expected for IU South Bend

Indiana University South Bend will have to make some budget cuts.

Our partners at the South Bend Tribune are reporting Indiana Governor Mike Pence is ordering public universities to reduce next years budget by two percent.

That means $400,000 will need to be cut from the IUSB's budget.

The school's enrollment is also shrinking -- down seven percent from last year.

Fewer students means additional cuts in order to balance the budget, but a total figure for budget cuts isn't yet determined.

Spring semester classes start Monday
