Car wash held in support of Mishawaka teen with rare deadly disease
There was a huge outpouring of support Saturday for an area teen who is battling a rare terminal disease.
The fundraiser at the Drive and Shine car wash in Mishawaka was held for 13-year-old Tyler Allman who has Batten's Disease.
The disease eats away good brain cells, causing children who have been diagnosed to lose their vision and their ability to walk and speak.
One hundred percent of the profits at the event went to "Team Tyler" to help with the family's astronomical medical costs.
Tyler lost his vision several years ago and just lost his ability to walk about a year ago, but his mom says his spirit is what keeps everyone around him going.
