Community helps out local Cub Scout pack hit by theft
Donations are rolling in to help a local Cub Scout pack that was the target of theft.
Nicole Taylor, of Goshen, was arrested for allegedly stealing $5,000 from the pack's popcorn sales fund.
Buy the good news is that the community has gotten behind Pack 762 and has donated more than $1,700 to the group.
Prosecutors say Nicole Taylor emptied the pack's bank account and spent the money the boys had raised on fast food. The money was supposed to go for new Scout uniforms and other uses.
Court documents state that Taylor told police she had intended to pay the money back, but couldn't. She was arrested March 15 and released after posting bail.
Taylor is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
Pack 762 will be selling popcorn and taking donations at Lowe's in the Goshen/Dunlap area from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
If you'd like to donate, the group has set up a paypal account. You can send money to them at firstname.lastname@example.org
