Elkhart County man jailed after bomb threat in New Paris area

An Elkhart County man is in trouble with the law after he apparently threatened to plant a bomb in the New Paris area on Monday.

Tuesday afternoon, police arrested 53-year-old Walter Glasgow at his US 33 home for False Reporting, a class C felony.

A call came in to the county's 911 dispatch center just after 1 p.m. Monday. The caller made a threat directed toward the New Paris area, but wasn't very specific.

Captain Jim Bradberry of the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department says the investigation did not reveal any actual threat to the community, but police are taking "a strong stance in holding those accountable for making false threats that disrupt the community and its resources."
