LaPorte schools not liable in sex case, court decides
A court ruled LaPorte Community Schools aren't liable in a sex case. A former student sued, saying the district did nothing to stop a sexual relationship between her and former volleyball coach Robert Ashcraft.
The woman was seeking damages for each of the 25 encounters. She says the contact happened from 2007 to 2009.
Ashcraft was convicted in 2011 of having sexual contact with a minor and sentenced to 21 years in prison.
