Mishawaka HS employee, Holy Cross coach suspected of inappropriate relationship
A Mishawaka High School employee and Holy Cross College coach is in trouble with the law.
This comes after an allegation of an inappropriate relationship with a high school student.
The St. Joseph County prosecutor's office says 25-year-old Ryan Mouch on Wednesday was arrested and booked for Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, Vicarious Sexual Gratification and Solicitation of a Child.
School City of Mishawaka Superintendent Dr. Terry Barker late Wednesday afternoon confirmed to WSBT the corporation has suspended Mouch without pay.
Barker says Mouch was an hourly staff employee at MHS.
Mouch is also a part-time assistant baseball coach at Holy Cross.
Holy Cross Wednesday afternoon issued a statement, also confirming Mouch has been suspended by the college without pay, pending the outcome of the police investigation.
At this time, no criminal charges have been filed. The prosecutor's office will review the reports of the investigation and has 48 hours to decide on charges.
The Special Victims Unit is handling the investigation.
