The Starke County Sheriff's Department says a missing 32-year-old Knox man is back home safe and sound.

Deputy Adam Gray tells WSBT Josh Simpkins had a bad day at work Friday, became aggravated and ran away from home late in the afternoon. That happened around 3:30 p.m. CDT.

      Josh has Down syndrome.

Deputy Gray says several fire and police departments and an airplane were used in the search. Police also worked to get a helicopter from Lake County.

The Starke County Dispatch Center said just before 8:30 p.m. CDT, Josh returned home and was seen walking up his family's driveway.

Deputy Gray says Josh also disappeared for four hours in March after he left his home.
