New social media guidelines in the works for South Bend Common Council

Members of the South Bend Common Council could face some stricter guidelines when posting to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or other social media.

Councilman Tim Scott is proposing 25 new guidelines.

This comes a day after the full council decided not to punish Henry Davis, Jr. for a controversial Facebook post Davis made in January, showing an obscene picture of a naked man and a dog.Scott says it would be best to create these standards for all city employees, but for now, these proposed guidelines are only for council members.
