A deadly crash killed one man at a South Bend intersection that neighbors say continues to cause problems.

Wednesday's crash at Walnut and Western Avenue killed 82-year-old Edward Vegh and injured his wife.

A family member says Sharon Vegh, who was driving, is expected to be released from the hospital this weekend.

Police say the intersection is known to be dangerous.

South Bend Public Works says they installed no left turns lights a few years ago.

The director of Public Works says since then accidents have decreased dramatically.

Some neighbors say there are still improvements to be made.

"There's definitely been modifications to it, but so far it's not enough to prevent or affect instances that have been going on," said Bryson Banks.

Public works says they do not plan on adding any additional improvements.

Police are still working to determine the cause of Wednesday's crash, but they say weather was not a factor.

They ask if anyone witnessed the crash to call police with information.
