Police say a 15-month-old was rushed to the hospital Wednesday after an accident involving a pickup truck and bicycle in South Bend.

South Bend police tweeted around 1:00 this afternoon that Fellows Street at Sample and the inbound Cooper Bridge was closed for an injury accident involving a bicycle and an infant.

Capt. Phil Trent with the South Bend Police Department says a 15-month-old child was rushed to the hospital for what was believed to be serious head injuries.

However, after doctors examined the baby they found only minor scrapes to the head.
