Police still searching for man accused of shooting 6-year-old son
We just got off the phone with police who tell us they are still looking for a South Bend man wanted in connection with shooting his 6-year old son.
Investigators issued an arrest warrant for 29-year-old Kenny Lee.
Lee is charged with Attempted Battery and Criminal Recklessness.
The boy was standing on this porch when he was shot.
Police say Lee got into an argument with the boy's uncle who lives with the children in a home on Olive Street, on the city's northwest side.
Jerome Holloway says when Lee came to the house to see the kids, Holloway kept insisting he needed to provide more for the children.
The men continued arguing outside when Lee pulled out a gun.
"I was just informing him that he needs to take care of his kids...that's all I said," Holloway said.
The family says the bullet broke the boy's leg.
Doctors put on a cast. He did not require surgery.
Police say Lee has a criminal record, but no history of violent crimes.
