Ronald McDonald House gets big donation from area church
SOUTH BEND —
A local church is making a big donation to help those at the Ronald McDonald House in South Bend.
Ironwood United Pentecostal Church donated more than 60 care totes for families who stay there. They include blankets, activity books and snacks.
Officials with the Ronald McDonald House say often times when families check in they don't have much more than the clothes on their back. So these bags can provide a big boost.
“Sometimes they are here for days or months, or we have had families who have been here for up to a year. So small acts of kindness really go a long way when you’ve been under stress for that long of a period of time,” said Lauren Smyth with Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Officials say this donation should last throughout the year.
