South Bend Common Council votes to keep current leadership
SOUTH BEND —
The new year won't see any changes in leadership on the South Bend Common Council.
Members met Tuesday and voted to keep the current leadership in place.
That means Tim Scott will remain the council president. Oliver Davis will serve as vice president.
One thing that will change this year, Scott said he's working with the city clerk to try and take some of the council's business meetings on the road.
"A lot of the business happens at [3 p.m. or 3:30 p.m.] when the common council committees meet. But not all public can get to these meetings. So what we want to do is change up the times where they're later in the meeting on an off night," said Scott.
Scott said they're working to get the equipment needed to conduct meetings at places like neighborhood centers.
