South Bend liquor store cited in weekend excise crackdown
Indiana State Excise police targeted the weekend of the Notre Dame home opener for a crackdown.
Police say the Belmont Beverage store on South Bend Avenue near Notre Dame was cited on two counts for kids ages 8 and 10 being in the store.
A father apparently brought his young children in and was not told to leave.
In all, excise police say they handed out 18 tickets as part of their enforcement effort in South Bend this weekend
Most tickets were traffic-related and two adults were charged with buying alcohol for minors.
