UPDATE: Victim of deadly Elkhart County crash identified

Police are investigating a deadly crash in Elkhart County. Police say two pickup trucks, an SUV and a motorcycle were involved.

It happened at County Road 17 and 18 early Tuesday afternoon.

Investigators say 21-year-old Logan Nelson was pronounced dead on scene after being hit by an SUV that ran a red light.

Nelson was riding his motorcycle eastbound on County road 18 when he crossed the intersection with County Road 17.

40-year-old Regulo Garcia Sosa, of Goshen, was traveling southbound on County Road 17 when he crossed the intersection, running a red light, and hit Nelson.

Police then say Thomas Wagler, 66, of Goshen, was traveling westbound on County Road 18, making his way into the intersection with County Road 17 to turn south when Nelson hit him.

72-year-old Phyllis Wood, of Goshen, was traveling westbound on County road 18, crossing County Road 17 when Nelson hit her as well.

Both Sosa and Wood were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department Crash Investigation Team is investigating the incident.
