Two suspects charged in St. Joseph County double murder
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY —
Two men are now being charged in a double murder case from St. Joseph County.
27-year-old Benito Pedraza and 29-year-old Jesus Pedraza were charged and arrested in connection to the deaths of Anton James and Damon Bethel.
Police say it happened August 2 on Fredrickson Street. Court documents say the shootings happened after a sham drug deal.
Police say a large amount of meth was going to be stolen.
They say that turned into a shootout with at least 50 shots fired.
Benito has been charged with three counts of Murder and one count of Attempted Robbery, a Level 5 Felony.
Jesus has been charged with two counts of Murder and one count of Attempted Robbery, a Level 5 Felony.
Both men are being kept at the St. Joseph County Jail without bond.
They are scheduled to appear before a judge Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. for arraignment.
