Two suspended Notre Dame football players facing misdemeanor charges
NOTRE DAME —
Two suspended Notre Dame football players now face misdemeanor charges.
Kevin Stepherson and C.J. Holmes face misdemeanor charges after police say they tried to steal clothes from UP Mall.
Coach Brian Kelly suspended both after their arrests earlier this month.
Stepherson also faces a misdemeanor drug charge in Marshall County from the day before that arrest in Mishawaka.
This comes about 17-months after he was arrested with four other Notre Dame players in Fulton County.
Stepherson pleaded guilty to drug charges there and now the prosecuting attorney says the new charges will violate his "conditional discharge".
He expects to file a petition with the court soon.
