Investigators say the man who owned the home, 58-year-old George Bailey died. Also dead is 43 year old Angela Williams of South Bend.

When fire crews arrived at the scene, the home was fully engulfed with flames shooting out of the roof.

It took some time before crews were able to make entry, but when they did firefighters found two bodies inside.

Commander Tim Corbett with the Metro Homicide Unit tells WSBT investigators have reason to suspect arson and/or homicide.

"There's some implications that perhaps this may go farther than two deceased people and an arson, that's what we're looking at, that's why we're involved," Corbett said.

Officials say the fire appears to have started in the living room.

A relative of Bailey's tells us George and Angela were friends.

Autopsies are scheduled for next week.

We'll continue to follow this story and will have updates as they become available.
