TSA catches loaded .38 caliber gun found in metro Detroit airport carry-on
The U.S. Transportation Security Administration says it stopped a man who had a loaded .38 caliber handgun in his carry-on luggage at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
The agency says it happened Wednesday and says it handed the man over to Wayne County Airport Police, who arrested him on a local charge.
TSA spokesman Michael S. McCarthy tells The Associated Press that the 56-year-old man says he didn't realize the gun was in his luggage.
The agency says it's the 14th firearm found so far this year at the airport in the Detroit suburb of Romulus.
