UPDATE: Indiana family reunites with dog lost in tornado


MELLOTT, Ind. (AP) An Indiana family has been reunited with their dog a month after the canine vanished when a tornado swept across their small town.

WTHR-TV reports ( ) that Rosco was returned Wednesday morning to Kyla Robinson and her family at the Clinton County Humane Society.

The day after a Nov. 17 tornado badly damaged the family's home in Mellott, a small town 60 miles northwest of Indianapolis, a man spotted Rosco wandering without tags about 45 miles from home and brought him to the shelter.

Shelter director Jim Tate says the woman who adopted Rosco initially refused to return the 3-year-old boxer. She changed her mind Tuesday, delighting Robinson and her 10-year-old daughter.

Robinson agreed to reimburse the woman the $275 she paid in fees while adopting Rosco.
