Area men hit the court for 'Tip-Off for Heart' event at Notre Dame
NOTRE DAME —
Some local men got a chance to play on Notre Dame's basketball court Wednesday night to support heart health.
Men's Basketball Coach Mike Brey teamed up with the American Heart Association for the "Tip-Off for Heart" event.
It's part of a local "Men of Heart" initiative.
It raises awareness about diet and exercise to support good heart health.
"With five years, we've got a lot of returning gentlemen that come back and they come back in better shape. They're in better shape, they got the message the first or second year, how to take better care of themselves and avoid those dreaded heart attacks. Now it's gotten to be a fun thing in town,” said Coach Brey.
Men from local companies played some basketball, got a blood pressure screening, and got the behind the scenes experience of Notre Dame basketball.
