Benton Harbor's Kysre Gondrezick is transferring from Michigan to West Virginia.

Gondrezick is coming off a stellar freshman season, where she averaged 14.9 PPG at Michigan and was named 2nd team All-Big Ten.

The former Michigan Miss Basketball was named the Big Ten freshman of the week six times.

Gondrezick is also the reigning WSBT outstanding student athlete of the year.

Her mother Lisa, who coached her at Benton Harbor, told WSBT Sports the reason for the transfer is a desire to play in a more competitive conference.

West Virginia is in the Big XII. The Mountaineers were one of six Big XII teams that made the NCAA tournament last year.

Kysre will have to sit out a year, per NCAA rules, before playing for West Virginia.
