Bremen High School looks to new leadership this season

High school football is quickly approaching

Next Friday is the season opener for area schools, which also marks the season debut of Friday Night Fever on WSBT 22.

Bremen High School broke in a new coach last year, but he was no stranger to the program.

Jordan Leeper assisted Bremen football for six years before taking the head role. He led the Lions to an 8-4 season with a loss in the sectional finals.

Bremen is back but they take the field without three year starting quarterback Matt Box. He graduated leaving a big hole to fill.

Bremen returns, however, with a handful of experience on each side of the ball-- which gives Coach Leeper peace of mind as he hands the offense over to junior Ryan Caldwell.

He will step into his first year on varsity and as starting QB.

Caldwell's first test is next Friday, when the Lions host Tippecanoe Valley for the season opener.
