Football vs The Force: Notre Dame plays charity softball against local police
South Bend, IN —
Notre Dame football put down their pads and picked up some bats for a good cause on Monday. The Irish played in their annual Football vs. The Force charity softball game at Four Winds Field in South Bend.
The game pits the Irish against members of local police departments benefiting the Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) organization which helps families of officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
"Obviously we're doing something in the community with our football team, giving back to great members of our community." said Irish Head Coach Brian Kelly.
