Lakeshore earns back-to-back bid to Division 2 MHSAA State finals
EAST LANSING —
The Lakeshore baseball team is closing in on something special, the Lancers won the Michigan state title last spring in division 2.
Thursday morning they find themselves back in the state semifinals, for a chance to return to the championship game. Fourth-ranked Orchard Lake St. Mary's wanting to take away their chance to go back-to-back.
It took 2.5 hours and 10 innings, but Lakeshore escaped with an extra inning semifinal win.
Senior Connor Brawley started the Lancers on the mound and had 7 strikeouts on his day and Oli Carmody gets the win. Carmody also recorded the RBI hit that gave the Lancers a lead in the top of the tenth. Lakeshore won 3-1 over Orchard Lake St. Mary's giving the Lancers a shot to defend their title!
Lakeshore will play Saginaw Swan Valley on Saturday at 9:00 am ET in East Lansing or the Division 2 State title.
