ND Hockey hosts Huntsville in season opener

A new season of Notre Dame hockey begins Friday as the Irish host Alabama Huntsville Oct. 6-7 at 7:35 p.m. ET and 7:05 p.m. ET at Compton Family Ice Arena.

The Fighting Irish are ranked 8th in the country to start the year, with the memories from last year's Frozen Four, still recent history.

The Irish have the challenge of replacing the whopping 52 points scored by Anders Bjork last year, something that Jeff Jackson says will fall on several players this season.

"We're going to have to make up those fifty points with everybody. I think there are certainly guys who, from last year's team, that can certainly be more productive offensively. And you hope that there is a surprise or two, and there usually is. Last year it was Andrew Oglevie, and I expect our blue-line's going to be productive offensively. So, I think we can make up those points," Jackson said.
