NFL players host skills camp at Elkhart Central
Today several current and former NFL players were in Elkhart coaching a specialized skills camp for the InFocus Sports Training LLC and the Elkhart Youth Football League.
Indiana University and Big Ten standout, Mitchell Paige, was at Jim Rice Field to help with the receivers. He said, "I can still remember the camps that I went to as a young kid and how much it meant to me to take out time in their day to run around with me out here, even if it's just for 2 hours. I just took a lot from people before me and now it's my turn to give back. "
Paige is also on break, awaiting the start of the Los Angeles Chargers training camp at the end of July. He, along with Josh Lenz (Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans), James O'Shaughnessy (New England Patriots), and Levar Johnson, Director of Football Operations and Quarterback Instructor for InFocus Sports Training and former NFL receiver, led the camp. The current and former professional players worked one-on-one with local youth from around the Michiana area spanning grades 3 through 8.
Proceeds from today's camp went to Elkhart Youth Football League.
