Notre Dame hoops hold first practice of the season
NOTRE DAME —
While we may be in the thick of football season-- Notre Dame hoops got started Monday afternoon at the Joyce Center.
They held their first practice of the 2017 season.
It’s a slightly different look for the Irish this season. Steve Vasturia and VJ Beachem graduated but Notre Dame returns a strong core group of players headlined by seniors Bonzie Colson and Matt Farrell.
Two guys that helped the Irish finish tied for second in the ACC last year, reaching yet another NCAA tournament.
The success over the last several years has this group brimming with confidence.
Coach Mike Brey mentioned that former Penn standout Austin Torres will be sidelined for quite a while.
The forward had a stress fracture in his leg and will likely be out four to six weeks making him questionable for the season opener against DePaul on November 11.
