Irish expect electric atmosphere for Georgia game

WSBT 22

It's not just the hottest ticket in town. It’s the hottest ticket in the country.

Notre Dame-Georgia tickets are going for an average of more than $600 apiece on the secondary market right now.

The hype from the fans is in direct contrast to very business-like approach being taken by the Notre Dame players.

"The biggest adjustment is staying true to what we do each and every week and your preparation and staying smart and stay consistent with your emotions throughout the week and not letting this be bigger than it is," says senior captain Mike McGlinchey.

"The more you can control that, the better you're going to be on Saturday."

The Irish players do realize that the energy inside the stadium and around campus should make for a tremendous atmosphere Saturday night.

"Yeah, I think the atmosphere will be great," says senior linebacker Drue Tranquill. "To just the fans outside the stadium to the fans inside the stadium. When you add the lights in the nighttime a little bit, obviously there's an added aspect to that, and so, yeah, I expect it to be really exciting."

"I'm excited, and I've almost started 30 straight games," McGlinchey adds. "It's going to be a big week. People are talking. Everybody is talking about this one."

Notre Dame and Georgia play at 7:30 Saturday night.
