Notre Dame volleyball earns first NCAA tourney berth since 2012
NOTRE DAME —
Notre Dame volleyball is headed for the NCAA Championships tournament for the first time since 2012.
They are headed to Lexington, Kentucky, to play Western Kentucky University on Friday, December 1 at 5pm.
The Irish and Hilltoppers will meet for the first time in program history. WKU is 30-3 on the season and earned an automatic bid from winning the Conference USA Tournament title.
Notre Dame is 22-9 on the season, finishing strong by winning six of the last seven matches as they head to postseason play.
This is Irish head coach Jim McLaughlin's 20th NCAA Championship appearance.
With a win, Notre Dame will play the winner of No. 4 seed Kentucky and ETSU for a chance to move on to the round of 16.
