Penn girls soccer wins National Championship

Thursday night, the back-to-back state champs of Penn High School's girls soccer team have another reason to celebrate.

The Penn girls soccer team was recognized as part of the Max preps Tour of Champions.

The Kingsmen finished as the top ranked team out of 34,000 others in the country, after winning their second consecutive state title.

Penn Senior Maya Lacognato said, "It's been pretty incredible. I know ever since the state game, I still haven't been able to sleep, like I'll still wake up in the middle of the night and just think of us running out onto the field and everything, and it gives me so much joy."

"Being honored at halftime tonight in this game, is just such an incredible feeling and I'm just so thankful to be able to spend these moments with my team," Kristina Lynch added, "It's definitely setting the expectations high, but I think that it's something that they should strive for every single year. It's definitely a possibility for them. They work so hard and they see what they need to do to be successful and I believe they can continue on the tradition."
