Marian's Alexander Horvath named WSBT 22 Burger King Student Athlete of the Year
Marian's Alexander Horvath is the WSBT22 Burger King 2017 Outstanding Student Athlete of the year.
Quality Dining Inc. Senior Vice President Jerry Fitzpatrick joined Horvath at the WSBT-TV studios to make the presentation. of the 30th annual winner.
Horvath led the Marian football team to an 11-2 record in the fall, including the NIC South division title and a 3A sectional championship, en route to being named the Northern Indiana Conference MVP.
Along the way, Horvath broke every rushing and scoring record in Marian High School football history.
Horvath earned All-State honors at running back by both the AP and the coaches. He was a USA Today Midwest Regional All American, and an Academic All-State selection.
Horvath is also very active in the community. He served as a Toys for Tot Drive Leader, the Colts Leadership Challenge Blood Drive Leader and also volunteers at youth summer Sports & Art camps.
He is a member of the National Honors Society with a GPA above 4.0.
Horvath will play football at Purdue University and plans to study engineering.
