ND lacrosse focused on playing complete game as NCAA Tournament begins
NOTRE DAME —
After an 8-5 season in which they spent a few weeks ranked number one-- the Notre Dame lacrosse team is getting ready to begin what they hope is another deep run in the NCAA tournament this weekend.
The Irish are the number four overall seed in the tournament and will host Marquette on Sunday at noon.
Notre Dame beat Marquette in a one-goal game just a few weeks ago.
The Irish built a huge lead in that game before giving it all away and then scoring in the final seconds for the win.
It's a game Kevin Corrigan says is a microcosm of their entire season.
"That's been the thing all year: We've been consistently inconsistent,” said Corrigan. “Really at times played as well as you can play but we've had these lulls in every game and that's kind of the focus for us right now. Just to put 60 minutes together."
"Marquette is a tough team and they've gotten really good. We've already played them once this year and it was obviously a very close game. Last year we played them too in a very close game. They're going to come in hot with a ton of confidence. We're going to have to play well to beat them,” said Segio Perkovic.
The Irish host Marquette at noon Sunday at Arlotta Stadium.
Notre Dame has won at least one game in the tournament each of the past seven years.
