Notre Dame women's basketball team begins ACC play


There's a pretty impressive streak in place Thursday as the Notre Dame women's basketball team begin ACC play.

Since joining the ACC more than four years ago, Notre Dame is a perfect 32-0 at home in the ACC.

Thursday the four-time reigning champs looked to get their next title defense off to a good start when Syracuse came to town.

Good crowd at the Pavilion Thursday despite the cold weather.

Notre Dame grabbed a quick lead.

Jackie Young was in the gym all by herself this afternoon working on three-pointers.

Irish up 13-4.


But Syracuse is ranked 23rd, and they don't back down.

Syracuse took their first lead of the game midway through the third quarter.

But that seemed to wake the Irish up.

They respond with an 11-0 run.

She had 24 points Thursday.

ND up six heading to the fourth quarter.


Then they blow them away in the fourth.

Marina Mabrey hits the three.

The Irish were 7-14 from downtown as a team.
