Record setting start for Irish women's golf

The Notre Dame women's golf team opened the season by earning a 3rd place finish at the Minnesota Invitational.

The Irish shot a PROGRAM RECORD 10-under par over the course of the three-day event.

It included Emma Albrecht (210) and Isabella DiLisio (211) both finished in the top ten individually.

Among the teams the Irish beat in the 14-team field are ACC rivals Louisville and Virginia Tech.

"For us to have three different players shoot under par rounds, and two of them did it twice, speaks volumes to the depth that our team has," coach Susan Holt says.

"For us to have that kind of balance - I think its really important in this sport to not always be leaning on that one person or two people. Just a great way to start our season. Definitely a confidence boost."
