This spring one of the most decorated athletes in Bremen High School history will graduate. Matt Box is the second all-time leading scorer on the basketball court, and the school's all-time leader in touchdown passes and passing yards on the gridiron.

Tuesday's Michiana All-Star game marked the last time that Box would take to the court representing Bremen High School.

Box has been a staple on the hardwood and the gridiron over the last four years for the Lions. As a point guard, Box led the hoops team in scoring, and as a quarterback led the football team to three sectional titles.

"Bremen has been great all four years, but it's going to be bittersweet not being able to play any sports for Bremen, but it was the best time of my life for sure," Box said.

And while you won't see him don the little B in the future, that doesn't mean he's done with sports all together. It was a difficult decision but Box decided to continue playing football for the next four years at Taylor University.

"Basketball I've been playing since kindergarten, so it's definitely going to be tough. I'll definitely miss it a lot. There is just something about football that I love. Basketball is definitely a great sport, but when I'm on the football field its the best time ever," Box said.

Good times that Box is hoping to continue as he gets ready to be a student-athlete at the collegiate level.

"Four years from now I want to be able to graduate. I think Taylor is a great school to graduate from. They've got great academics, and I just want to be a better football player and a better leader on and off the field," Box said.
