NE Oklahoma Under Winter Storm Warning
A winter storm warning continues for nearly the entire state as another winter storm prepares to impact northeastern Oklahoma by tonight. The winter storm warning runs from 6 p.m. Tuesday evening through 9 p.m. Wednesday night. Some parts of the state already hit hard by last week's monster snowfall will get more -- up to 10 inches depending on where you live.Right now, it appears the hardest hit areas will be in central Oklahoma, however the Tulsa metro area should expect up to eight inches of snow. Lighter amounts will be expected north and east of Tulsa. This all depends on the track of the storm, which is still hard to nail down, so all areas should expect up to 10 inches. The snowfall is expected to taper off during the day Wednesday and, as with last week's storm, bitterly cold temperatures will follow, dropping readings into the teens for highs on Wednesday and to near zero or below on Thursday morning. There is light at the end of the tunnel however. By Friday, temperatures will be back above freezing, signaling a warm-up that will see readings in the 50s for the weekend and to near 60 by the middle of next week.Stay with NewsChannel 8 for the latest on this winter storm.
