Olivia Ray joined the WSBT 22 sports team in April 2017.
She is a Hoosier through and through. Olivia grew up in the most southern tip of the state in Evansville surrounded by a large extended family of athletes and sports fans. Some of her favorite memories are watching, playing, and practicing sports with her mom, dad, and little brother. She graduated from Mater Dei High School before moving a bit north to become an Indiana Hoosier.
Olivia graduated from Indiana University School of Journalism with a degree in journalism, concentration in broadcast and minor in kinesiology. At IU, she started living out her dreams by covering the Hoosiers for various outlets as an undergrad.
She worked as a sideline reporter for Big Ten Network where she covered IU basketball, soccer, baseball, softball, field hockey, swim and dive. Olivia worked as the highlight videographer and on-air talent for the Indiana Football team for 3 years and traveled with them to their two bowl game appearances in 2015 and 2016. She also worked for the Herald Times in Bloomington and assisted with the launch of their sports channel. There she covered the 2016 Olympics as an anchor and reporter for Hoosier Sports Report.
During her summers, she completed multiple internships. She immersed herself in Division I athletics as the photographer and on-air talent for the Swim and Dive team in 2014, as the sports intern for 14 WFIE in 2015, and she completed Intel's Free-D training as a pilot for their 360-degree video program in 2016.
In her free time, you can probably catch Olivia at some type of sporting event with her cat, CiCi. She also enjoys staying involved with Indiana’s 4-H program and is active in her church’s Haiti mission program.
Olivia is ecstatic to continue her career in her home state with the WSBT 22 team. She loves to talk sports and about her cat, so tweet at her!
