INDOT: 2 major local projects open to traffic
The following release was issued Monday afternoon by the Indiana Department of Transportation:
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces two major projects are now open to traffic in the Mishawaka area.State Road 933 (Lincolnway) Bridge over Baugo Creek: The complete bridge replacement project was completed one month early and the new bridge opened to traffic today. The $1.06 million project between County Line Road (Ash Road) and Capital Avenue wasn't projected to open to traffic until after November 1st. The bridge closed back in April 2013.State Road 331, New Capital Avenue: The northbound and southbound lanes of the new Capital Avenue, between 12th Street and Lincolnway, are now open to traffic. This is a major milestone in the $24 million Capital Avenue expansion project. Past milestones: The new railroad overpass on Capital Avenue, just south of Lincolnway, opened to traffic back in June.
