Last year, over 11,000 kids read more than 5 million minutes during the month of February! Won't you join the fun this year?
How does it work?
Teachers register your classroom to participate. The I Love to Read Challenge runs from February 1 through February 28, 2019. Students track the minutes they spend reading during the month of February and compete for prizes!
Who can participate?
Any teacher in the WSBT-TV viewing area, Kindergarten through 6th grade, can register their classrooms to participate.
What do I need to do to register my classroom?
Register your classroom HERE by January 25, 2019. Your class must be registered to be eligible for prizes and to receive certificates of participation from WSBT and the St. Joseph Public Library.
What prizes can my classroom win?
The top student at each grade level will win a $50 check from WSBT and the St. Joseph Public Library.
The top three classrooms each win $250 check from WSBT and the St. Joseph Public Library!
What can my school win?
Each school that registers for I Love to Read is eligible for a random drawing for $5,000 that will be awarded at the end of the competition. To be eligible to be entered in the drawing, the school must have 50% of their total classes, K-6th grade participating. Only those schools with 50% of their classes will be entered into the drawing.

Important Dates to Remember
January 18 through January 25: Register on-line.
February 1: Students begin logging the minutes they spend reading daily.
February 28: I Love to Read Challenge ends.
March 4-5: Students turn in Calendar Logs to their classroom teacher. Teachers enter classroom results on line at wsbt.com.
March 6: DEADLINE - all verification must be received.
March 20th 3 PM: Award celebration at the St. Joseph County Public Library for individual and classroom winners!
