Moms First: Lipsync with the Stars event to raise funds for Center for the Homeless
It's a battle like no other, costumes, dancing, and singing all for a good cause!
The upcoming event is called Lipsync with the Stars.
In just three days, hundreds will attend Lipsync with the Stars in South Bend and all the money raised will go to the Center for the Homeless.
Steve Camilleri, executive director of the Center for the Homeless, says on Friday night it will be an epic battle, Lipsync with the Stars in South Bend.
"We almost don’t know what to expect because the performers put it all out there,” said Camilleri. “We are going to see a lot of costumes, folks that might be dressed in drag, and it can get a little crazy. And all of that fun is in our mission to break that cycle of homelessness."
In its third year, the event will help fund the 200 guests that call the center home every night.
"At any given day we have about 50 children. As we know, any child experiencing homelessness is one too many. So this event with $35 a day to live at the center. That's what it costs for a vote," said Camilleri.
The group with the most votes will win the Lipsync contest and anyone can vote.
"We will gather at Hilton Garden Inn,” said Camilleri. “Performers begin at 7 p.m. If you still want to attend there are tickets. You have untill Wednesday night to purchase tickets. Go to cfh.net, click on pics and then it will take you to our partner site at give grove.com."
Steve says even if you can't vote, as we approach the winter months guests are in need of essentials.
"They may ask us for blankets, scarves, hat,” said Camilleri. “If folks are interested in helping out, please donate any of those items. If you have any of those items, please drop them off at South Michigan."
