Louisiana has accidentally issued "double" tax refunds for close to 66,000 residents across the state, according to KLFY.
Our source says the state is currently trying to recover the money, which amounts to nearly $26 million.
A file allegedly ran "abnormally" and caused refunds to double. It happened on Wednesday, March 13.
KLFY says a large portion of the refunds were sent via direct deposit, and banks are being told to reverse the slip-up.
A spokeperson for the Division of Administration is urging anyone with a larger refund than expected to NOT spend the money.
