The 2018 election is now over for the Niles City Council.

The two candidates for Ward 2 ended in a tie last Tuesday.

Incumbent Robert Durm and challenger Travis Timm drew slips of paper from a hat this morning.

Timm's said "elected," so he's the winner.

Durm then paid a $50 fee to the Berrien County Clerk's Office for a recount.

Officials say the recount will happen on November 20th at 9 a.m. at the Berrien County Board of Commissioners Office.
