UPDATE: Prosecutor's office names shooting victim found dead outside South Bend school

The woman found dead Saturday morning outside Wilson Primary Center was 23-year-old Jessica Nacole Yost of South Bend, according to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office . A man who was stabbed has also been identified as 25-year-old Maximilian Kleiman.


Police were called to that address in the 56000 block of Oak Road just after 6 a.m. We are told they found Yost dead from a gunshot wound.

Police say the shooting happened at a home near the school. Yost ran from the home and was found outside the entrance to the school.

Metro homicide says they believe the woman ran to a few other places looking for help before she ended up at the school.

Kleiman was stabbed at least once at the home, according to St. Joseph County Metro Homicide. We are told that man underwent surgery and his wounds were not life-threatening.

Kleiman is the one who called 911, according to Metro Homicide.

South Bend Schools released a statement extending condolences to the family of Yost.

The school says although the death wasn't related to the school or school personnel. They are cooperating with law enforcement. School will be open Monday.
