A military mom got a huge surprise earlier this evening before the Daughtry concert at the Elkhart County 4-H Fair grandstand.

She thought she had won front row tickets to the concert, until she heard her son's name.

Private First Class Mason Corner has been serving in Kuwait for the past six months.

"This is the first time in eight months that I've seen my mom," said Private Corner.

His plan was to have six soldiers walk out to be honored in their uniform, and he followed behind.

He says he couldn't wait to surprise his mom.

She supported this entire thing ever since I told her I was signing up, so the fact that she doesn't know about it," said Private Corner. "It'll be great to see her expression. I don't know if she will be mad I put this together or if she will be happy to see me, but I'm sure it's going to be a little of both."

"Very emotional, very emotional," said Samantha Corner.

Private Corner says it was a lot of work but with the help of his brother and Ken Mounsey from Operation Support Troops, it was worth it.

Mounsey says he's been reuniting soldiers and their families for 24 years, but never had a moment like this.

"There is no words for that," said Mounsey. "It is an amazing feeling. The reason I can do what I do is because of these soldiers and because of that man."

Having the surprise come at a Daughtry concert adds to the moment for Corner.

"The song 'Home,' I literally listened to it every single minute of the Greyhound bus all the way from Kansas to Indiana," said Private Corner. "And then I came back, signed up, and left again. So that song means I'm coming home."

His mother says she couldn't be more excited.

"I wish they all could come home. Every mom needs this," said Samantha Corner.
