Autopsies confirm Niles father, daughter died of hypothermia
Autopsies confirm hypothermia is to blame for the deaths of a father and daughter in Niles. It also rules their deaths an accident.
81-year-old Albert Bivins and his 55-year-old daughter Patricia were found dead inside their home last month.
The temperature inside was well below freezing. Officials say their furnace wasn't working.
The family did seek help from a non-profit social service agency about their broken furnace. That agency could only refer them to the Department of Health.
It's unclear if they took that next step.
