Officials confirm body found near Dowagiac River is missing 47-year-old Niles man

NILES, Mich. — Autopsy results on Sunday revealed the body found near the Dowagiac River on Saturday June 15, 2019, is that of a missing Niles man.

Berrien County Chief Deputy Robert Boyce confirmed it's the body of 47-year-old Garen Collins, who had been missing for about a week.

He was found 100 yards away from the Dowagiac River in a thick part of the woods.

There are no signs of foul play.
