Ball State looks to attract local students

Ball State President Geoffrey Mearns// WSBT 22

Ball State's newest leader wants people from our area to consider the school.

President Geoffrey Mearns stopped at WSBT 22 Tuesday.

He says about 75-percent of the school's graduates stay in Indiana.

They want to attract local students so they can graduate, return home, and help our communities grow.

"This institution is strong we want to attract students from this area, contribute to local economy and contribute to civic vitality here,” said Mearns.

He was named to the position in January and began his tenure in May.
